Help Needed Really strange noise

Stock turbo wheel. No gauges. Maybe someday..... ($$)

Charge tubes are a possibility. Will pull them and check for cracks. Take a look at the turbo wheel at the same time.

Will keep you posted. May be a day or two.

Anyplace to go look at the "diy intake"?

Yer call davemac.. but you REALY NEED SOME GAUGES, at least a Boost & EGT.

No comparison.. between the cost of two gauges.. and the cost of a Turbo. (or Tranny).

I would put the tranny gauge on before the boost IMO. Doubt you will build enough boost anythime soon to do much damage....especailly without a boost fooler.

Found It!

Flex boot at turbo to intercooler tube was folded under on the back where it was impossible to see. Don't know when or how it happened but it did.

Thanks a lot for everybody's advise. Several of you were almost dead on. Wish I had thought of the "reed valve effect" as a way to explain the sound.

Must have been leaking some air even without making noise as I seem to have some improvement in performance. Have to recheck mileage to see.
