no sweat Craig, the 203 just lets the engine run at slightly higher temp. More along the lines of what International intended. IIRC, the 203 was the IH recommendation changed by Ford. Or something along those lines. My gauge never comes above the N in Normal.

Diesels are heat engines and run better when very warm. All Ford diesels run (or should run) a 203° 'stat. That is why you need to pay attention to the cooling system and make sure it is operating correctly.
