Radiator, M/T vs. A/T

Needing a radiator for my truck, I can find the A/T trans radiator cooler real cheap comparitively. I was wondering if anybody knew if the M/T cooler lines will thread straight into the A/T cooler lines on the bottom of the radiator?

For what truck and year? Same to same? Chev to Ford?

Actually, most M/Ts do not have cooling lines, so mute point.

Early 99's with an auto tranny didn't have coolers in the radiators either, just an external oil cooler and a small one at that. Later on they came out with a service bulletin/ warranty deal where they installed a new radiator wth the usual tranny cooler inside the radiator.

I never went that route. I got the larger V-8/V-10 tranny cooler as well as an additional cooler I mounted behind the grille. It does a very good job of keeping tranny temps in check.

Haha sorry, should've been more descriptive....guess if I would've added my truck to my sig it would've helped too, I'll do that after I post this. Anyways, it's an '00 F250, same to same I busted mine so I need a new one. But I DO have M/T with the cooler lines that bolt into the bottom of the radiator. From what I recall it looks similar to the A/T setup...but I want to be sure before I spend the money on one.

You can cut them off and change the fittings. No biggie, as my Mother would say...

I try to undo the radiator cooler, because if the cooler goes south on you and you get coolent in the trans., the trans. is trashed. I try to find the biggest trans. cooler to mount in front of the radiator. But thats just me.

Just for future reference, I did find that the radiators are completely interchangeable between Manual trans and auto trans for the cooler hookups on the radiator.
