I replaced all the U joints in the spring about 5,000 miles ago. I did break a grease zerk off on the drivers side u joint after it was all installed. I never used the 4x4 untill it snowed the other day, and that is when I noticed the growling noises on the freeway. The highpitch whine I was talking about I am beginning to believe it is the wind. It is a strange howl, but if there is a change in the wind the noise stops.
