Question...removed FPR compression sleeve/gasket fell to pieces

Currently working on the FPR shim....

I pulled the compression sleeve back off of the gasket and the gasket fell to fifty pieces and some was stuckl up inside the sleeve and I can't put humpty dumpty back together. Is there somewhere I can buy this gasket or can I put silicone or another gasket forming compound on it and let it dry?

I've also been trying to chase an air leak into the fuel system...could this be one?

P.S. another tip for when working under the hood: take keys out of your pocket. If the panic button gets pressed while under the hood you may get injured due to falling or need a new pair of underwear.

Is that a square oring thats on it? I couldnt tell in the pics and the one on my truck is too deforemed to tell what it was.

First time I put the screw in the spring...I built up to about 90psi (started out at 59psi) and then the hose on back of the drain valve blew off. I took the screw back out and dremeled the head of the screw down to where there was no longer slotted, just a flat top. Put it back in....reconnected the hose on the back. Turned the key over and it went up to 60psi...cranked it up. When I looked back under the hood fuel was gushing from the compression sleeve (bronze nut...am I calling it the right thing??)

* get a FPR rebuild kit. or make a gasket from gasket material.

POT METAL?? You mean be careful not to strip anything because its aluminum?

Talked to my Ford diesel mechanic back home and he said he replaces them all the time, and I should be able to get them down at the Ford parts dept.

Soo I'll call around tomorrow and see if I cant track the oring kit down.

I had a busted nipple on the regulator cover..

I think an important lesson has been leaned...when doing this mod, have the spare parts laying around. If you dont use them then, more than likely you will (or someone you know) need them down the road.
