Help Needed Quandary.cruise defueling

My truck is 2000 f 550
The cruise stopped working ended up melting the brake switch & plug on the brake peddle. Found wire on trailer harness grounding out fixed all that & replaced fuses . Now cruise still doest work. But I unplugged the computer replugged it in cruise worked for about an 70 miles but the weird thing I found out is when the cruise quit working was the lost some power, about 30 to 40%. Now I have gone through the wiring harness and haven't found any other bad wiring. I think it must be be some kinda sensor that controls the cruise & defueling . I don't really have any idea where 2 start

You have not yet gotten it scanned? If not we all are guessing as to what your truck thinks is wrong. Take you truck into a good shop and have it scanned. The shop needs to be able to scan CAN communications toget the information.
