I'm going to build a new gaming rig for '08 too but I'm waiting for the AMD SB700 southbridge chipset in combination with a 790FX northbridge chip on a motherboard and some new drivers for the Raedon Crossfire to come out early next year before I build. Getting tired of downloading game demos like call of duty 4 and medel of honor airborne to find my current rig ain't got enough to play them (currently an Athlon XP 3400+ barton core 400 fsb, 2x512 gb ddr400, ATI X800 pro, dual 21" monitors, 2 seagate sata 160 gb hard drives, epox 8RDA3+ dual ddr mobo, Rosewill case)
Build I want:
AMD Phenom 9600 duad core CPU
AMD 790 FX north bridge chipset
AMD SB700 southbridge chipset
4 x 2gb DDR2 1066 ram
4 x Raedon HD 3870 PCIe cards in crossfire config
6 x seagate baricuda 250 gb SATA 3.0 hard drives in raid
46" LCD monitor or 50"+ HDTV
