Depends on what you're using it for. For a basic everyday machine, it'll work great. HD is a little small for my taste, but then I have a lot of pictures and music on my computers. Other than that it should suit you well. I'm looking at building another PC here shortly (or significantly upgrading our existing desktop) and just going buckwild with it to really do a great job of handling some of the newest games out there.

If it were me, I would add several, three or four, 500GB hard drives instead of just one as you have there. I would use one for the OS (good choice with XP) and one for videos and a couple for digital pictures. The drives here in CA are around $120 for a 500GB and it is easier to put them in all at the begining when you build the machine.

Your system looks good, but as said before, larger hard drives would be a plus, and you should have two. 4 gb ram would be good also. Do you have a friend that has XP Pro?
Do you plan on overclocking your cpu? If so, an extra cooling fan is in order.
In 2001 I was a state of the art computer guru..
In 2007 I am a computer has been. :lmao

The 160 gig harddrive will do just fine as I keep all photos and media files on CD's,not much into MP3's since I have XM piped in every computer and vehicle.

I may max out the memory given I can find a good deal, just need to check what the ASUS 500 SLI max memory can take.

ill echo what the others have said...but have to laugh at the 2-3yr
"current"....hell as much as i hate vista (and all this internet forced
install crap) and all its other problems (installing xp software for instance)
YOURE ALREADY "outta date"

compared to a few years ago it seems to me that technology has
slowed a bit <thank god, but i STILL cant keep up...and its MY JOB
to stay current>.

the quad-core stuff is already out...itll be CHEAP in 6-12 months
at the most.

my latest laptop is running on 3GB of RAM and im already wishing i had
4GB !

....but want it to be technology current at least the next 2-3 years.

I may opt out of the Ammo 533 and get the Coolermaster RC-690 for it has more room and additional vents for more fans in the future.
I'll go 4Gig Memory instead of the 2 Gig.
Altogether it's looking to be around $750 or so.
