looking to move to a crew cab diesel so... stuck with the 3/4 ton (don;t need that but... that is all there is)
much as i would love a dodge , the crew cab too small in the back (more like a glorified extended cab) and teh mega cab is too new to be inexpensive
this is a 3rd vehicle but it will be used as a truck (minor loads, rare towing) so the 3/4 ton of either is more than adequate.
so.... it all comes down to experience >> what does anyone find on each of the 3/4 ton diesel crew cabs from GM and Ford 2005 and older (used of course!)
any thing to look out for in each?
any thing that seems to crop up alot (seeing good and bad on both enough to be concerned about making at bad 30-30k cdn judgement) (ie 6.0psd had issues, so looks like a crap shoot but the dmax may be cancelled with gm and isuzu parting ways??) what to do?
any and all advice appreciated
please email direct to [email protected] as on dialup and boards take long to load
thanks
gord

if you talk to 99.9% of 6.0 owners they all love there trucks and said any issues are minimal.. i know with my 7.3 i have had no problems... they say that the suspension on the fords is toughter the gm, but you say your not that concerned with that. it really comes down to going for a test drive and seeing with you like better, more confortable, ect. good luck and hope you go with the best (Ford of course:D... )

i have an 04 with a 6.0 and a friend of mine has a 2wd duramax and get less mpg than my ford, plus they only get 6.5 to 7.5 mpg with a 2 horse trailer. i always get around 18 mpg around town. plus i think the ford has a bigger back seat.:sweet

I had a '99 GMC Sierra , it was a gasser though (6.0L), but the only thing that I miss about that truck was the air conditioner. That AC worked just as good as the day I bought it. After a while you would have to turn the dial a little into the red even on the hottest days. My PSD's AC isn't quite like the GMC. I think if GM would spend as much time in the design shop on the grille of the Chevy as they have on the AC they put in it they might have somthing going. I'm not a big fan of trapazoid headlights ya know.
