Thanks guys, I'll be looking into the EBPV as soon as I get home. I also would like some input on powerprogrammers. I have a 50hp chip right now but the shifting isn't fast or firm enough for me,seems like it takes to long to shift, anyone have any recommendations?

Another thing that i can't figure out. I service my own truck and last time i changed the oil in it, I put 1 quart in the new motorcraft filter before installing, and 13 quarts in the engine, but the owners manuel capacities specified 15 quarts. but my engine with 14 quarts is exactly on the full mark. I checked it after running a while and it is still on the full line. What could be going on here, according to the book i'm 1 quart short?

Most 6.0 liter engines run with 14 to 14.5 quarts to the full mark. You are doing it correctly.

I'm running a 7.3 though....................

6.0's take 16 quarts. Dave was just saying that you can't put the full amount listed in the book into the engine since you're not getting the full amount out during an oil change. You'll probably be a quart shy. If the dipstick is reading full, you're good.

It maybe the reservoir for the HPOP. That doesn't drain when you change the oil. I would guess it's about a quart?:dunno

But you really don't want to drain the HPOP reservoir with an oil change, too much of a PIA for too little oil. You would have to manually refill it by putting oil back into it. If you don't, engine no starty.
