My queston is if you reprogram your truck and have problems, remove it before going to the dealership will they be able to tell? I am getting different answers to this queston. My truck has 20,000 miles and Im afraid of getting in a bind here.

Yes, my tech says he can see when my programmer was on. If you want Ford to take care of your truck for the full warranty period, don't use a programmer! Ford is getting tighter on this (and I can't say that I blame them). I'd enjoy your new truck until the warranty is up and then think about some performance mods.
And if you really want some performance now, go ahead, but remember " you play, you pay!" ;)

From all I've heard they can't tell directly that it's been on....
but they can tell by some parameters being out of range for a stock truck...

but so far so good for this boy on his 3rd Ex.... all tuned...

This is why I'm still bone stock. I just can afford to take the risk... :(

nature of the issue

can go a long way to determining if the dealer personnel will go to bat for you. You personal relationship with them and possibly any signs of abuse....sled-pulling..drag-racing, etc. Someone else in another post mentioned removing the offensive add-on and removing the battery connections for a few min prior to taking the unit to the dealer. I seem to recall techs complaining to me once about that very thing. At that time, probably 10 yrs ago, my (gas-powered) Ford was emitting clouds of smoke from engine compartment so I disconnected the cables. They suggested to me that I was trying to cover something up, lol. Often wished that particular Ford had burnt as it was the only real Lemon Ford I ever had. Forgive my rambling...Roy and Elk probably gave you the best advice.

Be well!

I think it depends on the particular dealership. I bought my 04 - 9 months ago and took it to 2 different dealers for poor mileage. One dealership said put some additive in the fuel. The other dealer said 11 mpg is normal, and then suggested i buy a programmer and a K&N air filter, he had seen increases of up to 15 mpg. So I think it depends on the dealer you take your truck to, or maybe the size of the dealership.

they have installed air filter kits, banks big hoss bundles, chips, tuners, programmers, exhaust, gauges, etc.

Hey Bama; your dealer is a keeper. You should buy them a Christmas present this year.
Here, our dealer would try to void the warrentee if you hung dice from the mirror.
