Programmer?

I recently bought a 2005 F-250 6.0L and have heard horror stories when adding a power programmer..... blow turbos, blown head gaskets etc. Is this true or not and if not what programmer would you recommend. Is Edge a good one?

Edge is BAD!!! They do not tune the trans for the extra power. SCT with custom tunes is the way to go. A custom tuner will write tunes for your truck and the mods that you have on it. If you have studs they will write it hotter than if you have stock bolts. I have Gearhead tunes on my 06 and love them. It will totally wake up your truck.
