Preformance Replacement Turbos for 2000 7.3

Hi all,
First of all I like to say I love these forums. I have learned so much all ready.
Now for my concern. I have a 2000 7.3 turbo diesel Excursion. The turbo seals are most likely bad and I want to get a really good preformance turbo for it. I was wondering the best kind/brand to get. I dont mind spending $2000 on it either. I have done some research on ATS and Garrett, and those are the only two I am really thinking of getting so far due to the fact that I could not find anything else out there. But I really want the best, with the best preformance. I dont mind upgrading the exaust either. I have a K&N intake kit on it all ready. I also have a Banks six gun on it, and a muffler delete.
Please any suggestions would be of great appriciation.

Don't have any recommendations on the turbo, but get rid of the K&N and get a Tymar, AFE stage II, or Ford AIS intake if your going to spend that kind of $$. Oh, BTW, Welcome to SDD psi3000. Great place to be.

When our turbocharger goes we have the Garrett GTP38R eyeballed as the replacement unit:tu:

Definitely upgrade from the K&N to a Tymar or similar style conical filter as you'll be grinning from the immediate results!

psi3000- what turbo you need really depends on what you plan on doing for future hp mods. Garrett ball bearing turbo will work perfect for upto stage 2 injectors, any more fuel and its just a smokey mess. Also the Hypermax h2e works great with stock superduty injectors all the way to stage 3 injectors, its a very well rounded turbo and costs a few hundred $'s more than teh bb turbo. Oh and welcome to the site!

Just got a Garrett BB turbo because of Lukes suggestion in today. I also got a EDGE Evolution for it }
I will let you know how it works out.
