Yes, i'm a noob and I tried searching this forum for this but no dice.
I pull the occasional 24' cargo trailer full of insulation, metal, ladders and whatever else accross the country at times. It gets pretty heavy. So as for my '99 F-250 SD x-cab 4x4 Longbox 6spd. Manual. I'm looking at getting some guages, I have my eye on the Cobalt Series. I want to go down the A-pillar but which ones should I get? The boost, EGT, Tranny? I think that's what I read somewhere that was good. But should I get electrical if possible or no? I also have a 5" exaust up to the cab then it goes to 4" till about a foot/foot and a half away then back to stock 3.5.
So in a nutshell which ones for my daily driver to school/work. Also on boost- the 0-60 psi one? or 0-35 psi?

Thanks for any help..:hail
lol You guys do seem to know your stuff.. so mad props:thumbs

Welcome to SDD :sweet

You are correct on the gauges - most popular selection. Which gauge maker you select is up to you - just depends on what you like and how deep your wallet is.
On the boost - 0 to 35 is really all that you need. Check out the site sponsor's - anyone of them can help get you set up with everything you need.

Good luck with it all and let us know if we can help you spend any more of your money :thumbs

Your selection of gauges is perfect for towing. The EGT is the one you most likely watch most of the time. The tranny temp gauge will save you lots of money on a rebuild if you keep it down, but you have a manual so it isn't that important. The boost gauge is more for fun and information. Have fun!!

LOL I even ordered the telescoping mirrors that were supposed to be here Monday but they are back ordered so they won't arrive till wed. lol Oh well.

This is true - guess I didn't read it well enough to notice that he said he had a stick.

So yeah - you really only need the two - but if you want the third cause it looks better - then it's anything you want. Last gauge install that I helped on that was a stick - he installed a temp gauge for his rear end - ummmm - strike that (cause I know how you guys are  ) - he installed a rear differential temp gauge. :D

I'd suggest a fuel pressure gauge. I just went thru a problem with a bad fuel pump. A fuel pressure gauge would have made the problem a lot easier to troubleshoot. Might also have saved me from breaking down on the road.:(

As far as electrical or mechanical, I'm not sure, I think either would be okay for daily in cab monitoring. Might want a mechanical under the hood right on the filter housing.
