This article, http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/businesstechnology/2003257679_oilconsumers14.html, states that some "experts" predict that if we have a mild winter that we could possibly have gasoline selling for $1.15 per gallon. I'm sure diesel would be in the same area. It's an interesting article, but I'm not "holding my breath" for the results. Something will happen (cold winter, some "loose screw" coming unhinged in the Middle East, etc.) that will keep the prices from getting too low.

Seems that way, but wouldn't it be nice? Some stations are already around $2.00. I remember diesel being around $1.25 when I got my truck in August 2002. After that diesel started going up. Some of my first tanks were around $35-$40 for a complete (+/- 25 gallon) fillup.

That would pretty much shut up all those whiners claiming "price gouging" and calling BS to fuel prices being a supply and demand driven commodity, wouldn't it? If the companies can adjust prices as they please, why adjust them to $1.15?

Maybe, just MAYBE, because supply and demand really does influence fuel rpices and the oil companies are not as evil as we'd originally thought.....

Still plenty evil, mind you, just not THAT evil... :D
