But when the snow is blowing it goes in the heater air intake and when it hits the heater core the windows instantly fog and freeze. With the AC on the moisture is pulled out of the air. I have been there done that

Crumm, when were you down there?

My "been there done that" was referring to blowing snow in the air intake with no AC thus freezing the windows. I was just kinda assuming that there was snow down there too. I guess now we know why no AC is needed. If there is NO moisture then there is no window fogging

So let me see if I have the facts straight. No snow to fog up the windows, and dry desert like conditions, but cold even in the summer. I was wondering why do you need tracks on the trucks then? Wouldn't big floater type tires ride better and work in that environment? Just a thought.

what they spec in the contract is what we give then and the mattraxs are a nice $65k option lol.

Having been there twice I would say those trucks aren't going to be in town, McMurdo Station. We had a military 5 ton converted to a Fire truck, and an American LaFrance when I was there in '80 to '82. Must be for an outlying station, or at the Ice Runway. Keith
