PowerStroke Engine compatibility for 2000 F350

I am looking for a complete 7.3 engine for my 2000 F350 Crew Cab. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if I can use a engine other than 99 or 2000 or are those 2 years the only ones that would work. Thanks for any help.
