back on subject. I have the same problem my driver side rear doesn't work anymore. changed out the motor, checked the switches, I guess I have a shorted wire just haven't chased it down yet. Any nifty tricks for tracing the short or should I just run new wiring to the passenger door.

Alan,

have you verified you dont have power to the motor????
if not, you'll just have to start backtracking from there...
someone on another site mentioned one of the wires broke
in the part of the harness from the body to the door...

Truth be told, my rear passengers window doesnt roll down with the local switch, I have to do it from the drivers seat main contol board. So I think I need to clean my switch as well. Its just one of those deals that I dont ever sit there so it remains low on the priority list.

Alan,

Before you snake a wire all the way through the cab to the window motor, try running a jumper across the seats to test things out. Have you tried a conitnuity test on the wire you suspect to be shorted?

open up the boot in the drivers door jamb and the jamb of the offending door.i can almost guarantee that you have a broken wire in the door jamb

When it first started acting up it would work intermittenly or would go slow. then one day it just quit. I had passengers so the door was being opened and closed multiple times that evening. I tried replacing the motor. no dice. tried replacing the switch in the rear with the one from the other passenger side. no dice. tried switching the wires in the drivers control panel to make that window work off of another switch on the panel. no dice. My assumption is at this point a broken wire. I've just been to lazy... and or too busy hemmoraging cash on performance parts to fix it as of yet. maybe if I can actually get my powerslots on I'll move on to this.
