Hey Guy's just bought a 2002 4x4 F350 CC 133K miles. When I back up it doesn't seem to engage at first, then it crawls a little then it surges and goes and it feels like it has resistance and it stalls. Seems a little odd to me and was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem. Thank you Paul

if it happened all of a sudden, it COULD BE the range switch on the side of the trans at the selector shaft..

if it's been acting up for a little while and now does it a whole lot more, something in the solenoid pack is sticking, or you need to call BTS Transmissions.

I have only had the truck a couple of day's so I can't tell how long it has been doing this. It just acts like it is under a load like the brakes are on so it accelerates and then stalls. If I accelerate while in reverse it acts all funny but doesn't stall. Thanks Paul.

I just had this problem, lots of wasted hours trying to explain to mechanics that did not seem to understand "or care to". Finally pulled the trans off and had a burnt torque converter, I will find out tomorrow if I need to rebuild the trans completely.

Dude..
check the trans fluid level..
engine idling in park..
if it's low, you found the problem.
