As the title says is it possible to flush the power steering system with just 1 person or is it a mandatory 2 person deal?

One person would be a busy job. I added PS fluid while the wife moved the steering wheel back and forth and pushed the brake pedal.

One person could add fluid, go move steering wheel and pump brakes few times, go add fluid, go move steering wheel and pump brakes few times, etc...

to flush it, what line do you have to pull off? do you need any special tools?

When I last did the PS flush(2+ years ago) I had a friend help but if I recall he disco'd the return hose going into the top of the PS pump then inserted a coupler into the return hose then attached clear line with enough to reach a bucket on the ground.

The fluid flow is not all that fast but definitely need to keep open containers of trans fluid ready to add for you don't want the pump to draw air into the lines.

I'll get one of my sons to help me with the job Friday.

I've done it by my self before but I've rigged a setup so I am connecting the reservoir to a 2 gal bucket and the port is plugged and the return hose is routed into a used oil container.

two people definitely make the job much easier.

Most guys with the OBS trucks flush theres when the pressure line blows ;)

Directions for one man flush on OBS:
1. When line blows try to keep truck on road using arm strong steering
2. Replace hose
3. Re-fill with fluid
4. Cross fingers that pump is not fried from running dry

One man flush on the newer trucks is different :D

I connected the 1/2" or so clear tubing to the top of the brake booster fluid outlet that normally runs to the power steering pump.

Had my future Ford Truck owner son(6 yo) work the steering wheel back and forth and actuate the brake pedal while I filled the power steering pump with new fluid, took about 2 quarts since his arms were getting tired after 45 mins:D
