I have had a small leak around the steering gear for the past few years. Last year, I put in the Lucus Stop leak, but it didn't stop it completely, but did make the drops smaller. Then over the summer and leak was gone. Now that it is cold again, it is back.

Could this be the hoses swelling and shrinking? Would be cheaper to replace hoses than gear and pump.

Thanks

Yes it would be cheaper to replace hoses. Do you know exactly where the fluid is leaking from? If it it a shaft seal you should be able to replace it, along with the hoses.
