Well got a new hose from NAPA after Church today, BTW got every stoplight I went through-mad musta been 12 or so...

Changed the hose out and flushed the old fluid out, I thought. I disconnected the return line to the reseavore and re-routed it to a bucket. What I didn't do was to turn the steering wheel, just cranked up the engine and filled up the pump. That purged the pump just not the other "thing" that actually turns the wheels. OH well I'll do that some other time soon.

I do have a question, when I'm at a complete stop on pavement, I cannot turn the steering wheel much at all in either direction. Its like I have flat front tires or something.
Its ok once I start moving, turns pretty good... Is this something normal or have I got some other kind of power steering issue?

Hope what I have found while fixing my leak has helped someone..

Thanks for everyones help!!!

I'd be intrested in learning about this myself. my truck just started doing this. it's been quite cold out, below freezing if that has anything to do with it.

I can turn from lock to lock at a stand still. Make sure you dont have the brake pedal depressed while trying this.

Nope.. no foot on brake, put it in park and same thing...

After about a turn of the steering wheel, she just will NOT turn any further. This is true in either direction.

Thanks,

Assuming it was weather related or catostrophic, i failed to check the power steering fluid.

it was just below the check stick. topped her off and she's steering back to normal.
