Power Steering Hose

I have read about a lot of failures of the pressure side hose from the pump to the gear and I kept blowing caps off last month til I found one that finally fit snug like it should but then I noticed that the hard line section where it goes into the fitting that goes into the reservoir/pump has play in it.
I can move it in and out about a 1/4"! I don't think this is right but please confirm?

i had to replace my pressure side line yesterday. according to the directions that came with the new line, the fitting is designed to be able to swivel even after it is tightened. play in the line is normal as long as its not leaking. -marty
