And, as I said, chances are slim that the animal I want is already out there.

Just wondered what everyone thought about the specs.

Well outside of trying to find a truck with two Tow Command system's :D - don't see much of a problem.

Around here your specs are pretty much normal - trying to find a stripped down truck would be more of a problem.

My dealer, Bob Tomes Ford in McKinney, TX, had an XL PSD recently with bucket seats. It looked pretty pathetic without the console and other "goodies" that the XLT's and Lariats have.

The $5000 is over and above what they usually give me. It does not matter much as the deciding factor is what the difference in my payment will be.

It may not be as hard as you think to find that truck, around here the dealers keep a good mix of stripped trucks,(XL), and the completely loaded ones. I hope you find what your looking for, sounds like a sweet ride.:thumbs

They can do way better. They aren't selling cars and trucks, so I don't see 10 grand off being unreasonable. Get the X plan deal. There are some guys on here who were offering the pins. Bought my 2005 in May of '05. Sticker 52,900. I paid 41,999 plus tax/title/lisc. Don't let them "tease" you into thinking this is a great deal because they say $5,000 off is a lot. I know for a fact there are better deals out there. Just look for them. Check the Internet. If you want to go local, pit dealer against dealer for your business. If there's only one Ford dealer, put the Chevy and Dodge dealers into the mix. I know a lot of people just go to one dealer, in one place, in one day, and almost impulse buy. I think $5,000 is worth a little footwork and a couple of days of price checking.:sweet

Again, we are not keeping to the question asked. As I said, the $5000 mentioned is over and above what I usually get, which last time, was about $8000 on Rachels Excursion, so it is fairly safe to say we are talking about around $13,000 total, plus or minus.

However, the question was about the specs, not the deal.

And also, since I finished a addition and remodel for this dealers Ford Store last year, and now just finished a 2 million dollar Building for his Honda Dealership and in bidding stage, I will not even think about pitting him against anyone else. (Let alone a Dodge or GM).

Anywhose, it appears that I'm on the right track with the options, we'll just see what happens.

Sorry, lost in translation.:sorry If it's got what you want get it. It sounds like a good deal. You'll get a new rig, some more options , and a new warranty. (In my experiece it's a good thing to have on the 6.0.) On the other hand, if you rig runs like a top with no probs., you take the risk of getting a lemon or one you'll have to work the bugs out of. :dunno

Your setup looks great, Barrett.

I'd suggest ditching the Fx4 package, and just getting the 4x4 and adding the skid plates package. The extra cost of Fx4 just pays for the rancho and "Fx4" stickers...

You're 100% bound to love the dually.:thumbs

don't turn down a truck just because it has this package, the stickers are nice (even though I was taught to always take them off), and it's like an extra 200, so if you find a truck that you love, dont turn it down just because of this package

hmmmm

B- I don't mind living through you vicariously- here goes

SB or LB?

What color interior? c'mon now, let us get all Ty Pennington for a bit....

Wheels and Tires: Do they offer 18 for 350's? Might look better, but yo may take a hit on load capacity.

Step bars?

Gears- LS 4.30's? Really? Ok.

I didn;t think you could do HD alt with plow prep.

Power Sliding Rear Window :sweet

MOONROOF! Do it! Do it! Do it! If you get as sweet a deal as it sounds, then DO IT! :hail

Do the satelite radio option too. I LIKE Sirius personally.

FX4- nix it. just do the skidplates and upgrade to Bilsteins later.

What about the FMC remote starter? It may be a dealer option.

I would throw in a Transferflow fuel tank too. Do it when the truck is new and clean. Let the dealer or Transferflow folks do it to get the warantee.

Lastly, I would look into something like LineX clear-bra to protect the hood and rockers. Did FMC drop the thick goo coat on the rockers?

WRT price, you eluded that you do business with the dealer owner. If he is buying from you, you >should< buy from him to. He may be hinting at something there.... bidness is bidness. A new truck could go a long way to more worky work (besides, you would figure in the price of the new truck on the next job right? :watchout)
