My 04 Superduty with a build of June 2004 has always poppped a little thru breather since it was new, But now it is getting to the point of popping a real lot on acceleraton and pulling the slightest little bank. Is the EGR valve the problem or do I have bigger problems, Had one EGR replaced at 26,000 but it popped with the new one. I ran diagnostic test with a superchip programmer and it says #1 Cylinder and #6 problem, Which was also on my papers when they replaced the EGR valve the first time ,but said not to worry about, Truck has 48,000 miles on it an I;m wondering if this is still under warranty. Thanks For Any help and Input to my trooubles

Welcome Costabub. Sorry to hear about your problems. The popping makes me think that you might have a bad Exhaust Back Pressure sensor. You should have seen a code like P-0401 through P-0408. I would get it into Ford before your warranty runs out. Mine did the same thing and Ford fixed it.

Hopefully,

it's like Dave said. If not, I had the popping sound, got to the point that it sounded like a helicopter, began missing/ dieing etc.
The verdict on mine- bad exhaust cam lobe, was ground down like 3/32". :(
So, get that programmer out and run it around enough to reset all the codes, and get it to a dealer.:)

Took my truck in for repair and they put new EGR valve on it but the popping thru the breather is still like it was, Man this thing sounds like a helicopter taking off, Could someone show me or tell me where the EBP sensor is located. Shop says that computer found nothing but the EGR and that these trucks do this popping natural and not to worry about it.
