Plug in water pump for coolant filter install...what size?

What thread pitch and size fitting is needed to install the feed line to the coolant filter kit into the water pump? I am using a homemade setup and just need to get that fitting so I don't have to use a tee.

I'm probably wrong, but I'm guessing 1/2" NPT (hardware store item)
