hey if the factory added the gauges you want they wouldnt work any
better than the ones that the DO supply !
PROOF theyre WORTHLESS: OIL Pressure Gauge & Trans Gauge

For a volt meter ive been using one from CYBERDYNE that plugs into
the powerpoint...i originally purchased it to use on trips when i was
towing or just to generally watch the charging condition of the system.

when the truck is turned off (key off) it displays the combined battery
voltage, once the truck is running it displays the alternator output (charge)
voltage.

its simple gauge/solution and a handy item to keep in your door pocket
or glove box (if you dont wanna use it all the time)...they make versions
that can be perm. mounted as well.

available all over the place (jc whitney, jegs, summit racing etc)

scroll down the page/link below to see the units that plug into the
cig lighter outlet/power point --> CYBERDYNE Voltmeter

I agree.

Option #1

Honestly, if I were a big shot in charge lets say marketing the Superduty Diesel Trucks F250-on up, I would contract with a good quality aftermarket gauge company like Isspro or others. I would give the customer an option to order a quality set of pillar gauges for their truck as a factory option. Most customers would not hesitate with this type of upgrade. This would be a step in the right direction for serious truck builders for diesel truck consumers.

Option#2

I agree that the Superduty is the best looking and simply the best american pick up on the market. Well, the Ford truck engineers could actually give us factory gauges that mean something without an aftermarket option as stated above. I never understood why this hasn't happened with any serious truck builder. We know the price of the truck would increase but most consumers would pay a little extra for gauges that are functional.
(Pyro, Boost, Trans Temp, Volt, Oil Pressure, Coolant) Basic set up to monitor our rigs.

Just my 2 cents What do you guys think?

b1t -

no arguments here...people are paying for the factory integrated
brake controlers, switches & most recently

400+ for a tail gate step
400+ for a reverse camera
and god knows how much for an integrated navigation system.

i think the problem is that most folks dont know how to
read a gauge so they probably wouldnt order 'em anyway...
or theyd opt for the dvd player (for the kids) over the
more important "real" gauges !
