my goal was to make the unit look "factory" but also
keep it outta view from at least the DRIVERS window (when
standing outside lookin' in) either by cops or crack head theives.

the other goal was to AVOID having to reach for the mute...
sometimes thats a dead give away, even when you HIDE the
detector on the wind shield...that all too familar "MUTE-REACH"
is well known by cops.

i dont CURRENTLY live in a state where detectors are illegal but
i still dont want ANYONE following me (because they see i have a
detector)....I often drive in a state where detectors are illegal and
i dont want any signs that im running a detector either.

w/ the 99-04 superduty (f250/f350/+) their is NOT enough room
behind the dash for the entire remote display...i had to trim the
pcb (removing the remote mute button) so the display would
fit.

Main Unit Location (using remote display) --->

NEWLY PLACED...REMOTE BUTTON (drivers door, where
drivers hand naturally falls while driving) --->

NEWLY PLACED...CUSTOMIZED Remote Display (note pcb cut &
mute button removed so that remote display would fit behind dash) -->

MAN That's sweeet. Locked, loaded and ready for a road trip! Gotta love the in-dash display...that's just badass.

Am I having a deja vue moment here bush? I know you have posted this before when you did the in-dash install. Is there something new that you changed or did?

Bush, what is it that you have mounted to the top left of your left front door speaker.

Very professional, clean-looking install by-the-way.

Chris - You mean the Tweeter ? FWIW heres some pics to my DIY
sound system set up Truck Audio

found an old photo (meant to hi-light the carling switches)...but the Front Door Mid-Driver
and Tweeter can be seen better in the background too.

realizing you probably dont use one of these detectors since
your restricted by DOT....

Also im having to do some digital photo hosting maint. so im moving
pics around and fixing links...so some of the postings are prompted by
that as well.

Sorry to revive an old post, but I am curious to know what the view from the outside is like. Do you have any pictures from the outside?
