I decided I should show the SDD community that I actually do work, and am not really on here all the time (like some have accused) :D
This is my latest project rebuilding a 16 x16 semi-powershift transmission in a New Holland 8340 (farm tractor)

here is the tractor split twice to remove the transmission

A couple shots of the transmission case w/o the gears/ shafts etc

I already got over 20 hours in this job, will be over 60 time it's done ;)
Cost of job- $6- 7,000

Roy, if you can put that thing back together and it works like it should, you can do anything I would think. Good Luck.

It aint cheap. I am amazed at what it takes to split a tractor, and have alot of respect for the people that do it. The only tractor I have split is a Case VAC, many many many many times. But that isnt saying much. What would your charge to rebuild an engine on a Ford 9600 just out of curiosity.

I didn't price a new one (would be a reman) but I would guess 15-20,000 (that's just for the transmission, you have to install it too  )
