It seems to me, that the logical & sensible thing to do would be to engineer the hood so you'd could work on the engine. :rolleyes:

X2.. like the Big Trucks.. the Hood & Fenders could have been engineered to hinge forward, exposing the WHOLE engine bay area.

NTSB stuff I'd betcha.

Exactly! But because it is the "logical & sensible thing to do", is why it won't get done. It's group think at its finest. :D

In all fairness, I don't think my '02 is much fun to work on for turbo, valve covers, etc. Why the engines are jammed so far back is a mystery to me.

Exactly, no one wants to buy a truck with a nose as long as an 88' caddy - Besides, the more of a pita to work on, the more people will bring it to the dealer to have it repaired :D
