Well...........found the broken wire. It was too far up in the column to reach and resolder.

Bought a new shift lever assembly tonight and put it in. Only took 30 minutes including taking pictures.

one wonders why they never did a tsb or recall to fix the defective wire routing over a SHARP edge

the hazzard flasher button
