ordering a transmission cooler

I guess what you could do too is put in shut off valves on the lines running into the tranny from the radiator. Leave them open in the winter/when its cold and shut them off in the summer/when its hot?

That would be interesting to see if it makes a difference.:stir

ok so after reading this is what i understand,
*running the larger cooler and fan best, any suggetiuon on part num# "auto zone-oriellys"
*next running a in line Y( to radiator and trans cooler) w/manual valves for colder climate driving to bring temps up in winter, down in summer.

am i on the right track?????????

i put in the 6.0 cooler and have yet to see temps over 160 when cruising. i got up to 190 once and it was because i was stuck in deep sand on the beach and was running the hell out of it. My suggestion would be to get the 6.0 cooler and be done with it.
