What kind of oil and weight of oil should I use in my 99 7.3? I assume my truck has motorcraft in it since it was ALWAYS serviced at ford. Should I just stick with that or go a diff route like a synthetic or somethin? My truck has almost 246k on it. Doesnt smoke and starts up fine. I have an opportunity to get some 10/40 convoy para-synthetic. Never heard of a para synthetic. I've heard good things on the rotella stuff too. What you guys think?

I use Rotella T synthetic 5W-40 for the cool part of the year and 15W-40 for summer. I still change the oil & filter at the recommended intervals of 5,000 miles. Motorcraft oil is good stuff, so it is your choice. Just make sure your oil is CI-4 rated at least. Any reason to change brands?

My 2001 F-350 ,7.3 PSD has over 200K miles and has never used a drop of it's MOTORCRAFT PSD 15W40 Oil. It's great oil and less than the others. Why change now after almost a Quarter of a MILLION successful Miles on MOTORCRAFT??

I've used Delo sence the 1st oil change and have not had a problem. I also change the filter every time . I use the Motorcraft filters. I have 169,000 miles on my truck.

Delo is good oil. I would leave it alone and not worry about your oil. Motorcraft makes a good filter. That is all I use. I can't see any reason, so far, to change your oil brand.

I just had an opportunity to get this convoy oil at 5 bucks a quart. Just curious. My truck doesnt burn a drop or leak a drop. Nice and dry under motor and trans. Just wanted yalls opinion. I will just keep usin motorcraft. Should I keep usin their oil filter or go with a higher capacity one? Some people go to international and get the really big filter. Also should I keep changin it at 5k intervals or go to 3k intervals?

Why would you want to cheap out on the life blood of your engine? This is what keeps your truck running day after day. Is it worth it to you to save a few $$ on an oil change. I don't get it; people spend tens of thousands of dollars to get one of these trucks and they won't buy the tools or oils required to keep them running. Sorry for the rant Stroked68, not meant for you specifically.
