Question Open door light stays on

In the door latch the switch I think is going bad ,I took the door apart once before and wiggled something where the latch and some wires are then the light went out. Stayed out for some time and then came back on as I was driving down the road. I got out of the truck and the door was open for some time and when I got back in and closed the door the light went out .question is can the switch be fixed or is it an R@R replace and what do you call it so when I go to ford I can say the right name .

I would go down to Ford and ask the parts guy what it is called. You won't be the first one. I would call it the door open switch.

it's called a door ajar switch, they're about $20...
sometimes they do stick, and can be limped along with generous hosings of WD40

It seems I gota electra clean and wd40 one of mine about every 3 years or so. I have never actually replaced one yet.
