Well, I always have Beam, but unfortunately, I do not have the hoses to hook it up. Got the sites bookmarked, so we will be doing that soon. Getting ready to place an order with dieselsite for the coolant filter and the 203 T-stat, clean out the fuel bowl, gonna flush the coolant system again, to be sure we got all the diesel out of there.

Here is a question...where there was diesel in the overflow tank, we have tried to get it off the sides, but with no luck....anyone have any ideas on how to get that thing squeaky clean without replacing it? You just cant get inside of it and I have tried hot water and Dawn dish detergent. Got all the loose stuff out but cant get it off the sides, so the top 1/2 of the tank is black on the sides.

We are still on the fence about the oil bypass....

Hubby is talking about changing the oil again in about 2 weeks. Might be overkill but I guess he wants to be sure everything is lubed like it should be.

I also gotta figure a way to get that little XM antena outside and just where I want/should put it.

And now that Frank showed me that cool brushguard/winch system last night in chat, that is gonna be on the list as well!!! That thing is sweet.

I am supposed to be doing some drawings for a huge barn, but I can't seem to get off this site and gathering info on the truck.

On a rig I use to have I used a heavy metal coat hanger wire doubled over with a rag hooked to the end and engine degreaser(aerosol can). Just bend the hanger to reach the upper corners. After you get it all cleaned out be sure to rinse it out real good to get rid of all the degreaser, I don't know how well it would mix with anti-freeze.

OIL bypass filtration, had one on the 02 7.3 kept oil clean so to speak , changed oil at 10k intervals. did the analysis a few times and found 10k was about right based on my driving so we used teh 27 bucks to buy other things.
have one on the 6.0, as for clean oil, the jury is still out we only have 10k on her now and she is on her second batch of oil. plan to change it at 12k then sample a few times at 5k on the new oil to get a good window and see if we can extend it out to 10k and then jump to synthetics.
but i stil lhave to master the 6.0 dipstick, its terrible to read.

cant help you on the ovrflow tank, if the truck ran anytime with all that mixture up in there hot, you may be better off getting a new tank.

Since you've used Dawn on it, can I assume that you've removed the overflow tank from the truck? I had a similar problem but not with diesel. I had oil in the overflow tank . I solved my problem with 2" X 3" pieces of an "oil only" rag (generously donated by Crumm...:thanks ) floating in the coolant. After I shut off the truck I would remove the radiator cap, shake the truck sideways (to mix the oil in with the coolant) then float a piece of it (tied to a string) on the coolant. I the morning I would disgard the used oil only. After a few days of changing the 2" X 3" I finally got all the oil out. BTW, the oil did like to stick to the sides of the tank. Since diesel is a petroleum product too, these oil only rags should work for you too. Your challange will be to get it off the walls and floating in the coolant. Good Luck!

FYI, You can get a new overflow tank at powerstrokeshop.com for $66.00 plus shipping.

Yes, removed it, took it into the bathtub (thats ok to do when you are a woman since I clean the tub) and commenced to filling, plugging, swishing, shaking, draining, rinsing. The only thing that did not come out was what was on the sides.

Will see if I can find some of those rags and put in there and see if that helps....I may just buy another container to make sure I am not reinfecting the coolant with what comes off the sides.

My only concern here is this, if there diesel fuel is on the sides of the degas tank then obviously you had/have it through out the cooling system. I dont think I would get all bent out of shape about cleaning that degas tank until after you have had the system good and hot and flushed or the fuel residue will show up again in the degas tank. JMHO.
