I ran my AE today and got some codes
I know what the codes are, I just need to know how to fix it
P1832 Transfer Case Diff. Lock up Solenoid Failure. Where is it so I can change it?
P1876 Transfer Case 2wd Solenoid Failure Where is it so I can change it?
Does this mean Im stuck in 4wd Hi. Hubs are unlocked but could this be the vibration noise at 1600 to 2000 rpms Ive been having for months?

When I first ran the AE this morning after warmed up and 10 miles I got the above codes and (p0605 Ive had this before),u1262 Com bus fault, P1316 IDM codes detected, P1273 Cylinder#3 High to Low side open
I saw this somewhere today P1273 High to Low Side Open - Cylinder 3 - This means there's an open in the wire between cylinder 3 injector (right bank) and the IDM.:dunno

SO I clear the codes and drive for about 20 miles and heres what I have now

Contribution Test=no codes
KOEO=p0605, p1273
KOER=no codes
Buzz test=p1273
I think this is my loping problem:(
What you guys think I need to do? Thanks for your help in advanced;tu

On the engine related codes, I'd chase the open wire thing first... It could be the root of the others ? And the lope.

FWD soliniod(s) ? Other FWD guyz will chime-in soon.

There is a motor in the transfer case that works the ESOF (Electronic Shift On the Fly) part of the transfer case. There are a couple of solenoids that control the motor that does the shifting (Shift Motor). These should be in the Under Hood Fuse Box. I would check ALL of the FUSES for a blown fuse. I don't have the service DVD for your truck, sorry.

under the cheddar curtain
you can actuate the motor on the transfer case with a wrench. there have been a few people with similar problems this winter with posts and replies and info.

poke about, you will find it.

your P0605 is due to the chip
the P1273 is most likely an open in the under valve cover harnesses (usually at a connector), like the wiring harness to the valve cover gasket, the gasket to the wiring harness under the valve cover, or the connector at the #3 squirter itself..
possibly a fail(ing/ed) injector..

don't dick with that 4WD code until you talk to me first..
if it didn't come back after you cleared it, chances are you got nothing to worry about..

Ok I cleared codes today and drove 30 miles and the P1832 and P1876 returned but not the other code p1273. I was a little excited until I ran a buzz test and the P1273 showed up after the test. Sometimes I hate my truck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The uvch's were replaced about a year or so ago with the injectors. I would hope that neither was the problem. Any step by step direction to go would be nice. Thanks again guys!

PIA, I know, but for right now.. Erase the codes again, disconnect the batteries..give all the connectors under the hood, and on the engine.. a good inspection & wiggle test. Take'm apart and look'm over. Sometimes, during the winter months, connectors can get a little corrosion started.. due to temps & humidity from start ups & cool downs.. UVCH's also.

Check & Clean yer battery cables, clamps and Post too ?

It might not be an "open" wire. could be a dirty connection.

As you've proly read before.. These things (PCM's) are Anal about voltage & amperage needs.

At least after doing this.. yul know everything is as clean & tight as it should be. Then start it.

See what you get.

Hey Big Joe
I checked and cleaned battery cables about 3 weeks ago so that should be good.
Ill have to get under the hood and check connections tomorrow I guess.
What exactly is an "open" wire?
Thanks

An "open" wire is simply.. a circuit that is not complete, as sensed in this case, by the PCM. The PCM has, by design, the capability to send [test valued] volts & amps through the whole electrical/electronic system(s).

FWIW ? When we start these electronic PSD's, during the Wait To Start cycle.. While the Glow plugs cycle, the PCM also does a Systems Check, if it detects ANY Out of Spec, electronic anomalies.. IAW the EPA driven and/or IH/Ford, parameters.. in any one of the Component systems.. It might register/log, a Code.. a code that indicates an Open Wire.. doesn't necessarily mean a Shorted circuit, It just means the check signal didn't reach it's terminus, or.. the right value wasn't detected. That's where a possibly corroded~loose Connector can come in to play.

If it's Smog related.. you might also get a CEL... even when the truck is in motion.

(kinda why we keep Harp'n about Batt & Alternator and connection conditions [First]: Low volt/amps supplied to the PCM (?) Low/faulty readings can be detected, during a Systems Check)
