Points well taken Syn PSD.. No Harm nor Foul intended on my part ;tu

Each one of these PSDs has a Personality, no doubt.

The ONLY reason I went with Full Syn (Rotella T) was because I installed a by-pass filter.. To Costly to change Syn every 3K, a given.

I changed my oil last night and the truck started quite a bit easier this morning, not as cold as past mornings either though. We will see.:dunno

The bypass filter lets you extend your OCI, But running a oil blend is fine if i stick with my normal OCI without it? I've been changing my oil every 3k to 5k, like suggested by the dealer. I have a bypass system on my wishlist for christmas but currently do not have one.:(

IMHO "As long as the 2 oils are high quality oils, and the same brand of oils. I see no problems at all". Just stick to your normal OCI.

I've been using Amsoil 15W-40 in my 7.3 for the past 2 yrs and so far I've been very happy with the results. I have Amsoil all the way around in my truck and I've put in the Amsoil Bypass System which really has extended my oil changes. I do a lot of OTR driving, no hauling/pulling so that helps a lot. The bypass system wasn't cheap but I think it will pay for itself in a year and save me more than a few bucks down the road. :D

Whats the recommended OCI with the by-pass system and full syn. Is the by-pass system all you need or is there any additional stuff you gotta buy with it? I want to switch to full syn.,:dunno but I want to make it last.:dunno

The recommended OCI on your 6.0 is when the lab says its time to change using Used Oil Analysis (UOA). Since the 6.0 is an oil shearing machine I would never go without UOA when extending the OCI. In my best guess with typical results you can expect 15-30k mile OCI using a bypass. Unlike the 7.3 which can use a dual bypass the 6.0 will use a single bypass used in concert with the oem filter.

Depends on which brand of bypass you buy as to whether you will need to get extra stuff. The Amsoil system I recommend will come with everything you need if you follow the recommendations as to what to get.
I would recommend with any brand bypass that you install a Fumoto Drain valve on the oil pan for making the collection of oil samples much easier.

I carry the Amsoil Products and Fumoto if your interested in finding out about pricing pm me.
