Otherwise known as the dipstick holder on the side of the oilpan.

Anyone ever had to change this little guy?
I've seen threads about replacing the oring but not the actual piece. I know the pan has to come down and I'm hoping I can slip it out the back once it's loose.

The book calls for pulling the engine to remove the pan. This thing is only about 3/4" thick and I think I can get the pan down that far.

New parts were only 40 bucks.

I'll do a write up if nobody has.

Anybody?

I recall a member or two in the past that had to do the O-ring for the oil level dipstick but a write up I haven't seen yet.

If you would like to author a How-to Article I'll be happy to add it to the technical wiki. Photos of the procedure would be perfect ;tu

I found this very clear and detailed write up about fixing the leak on another forum, but it does not cover changing the adapter itself.

CLICKY CLICKY

Looks like tonight will be the night to change it.
