OIL LEAK AND CEL?

So I just got back from a 3500 mile trek up to Saskatchewan and back. When we arrived in SK, I noticed an oil leak had started. It looks as though it is starting at the top/back of the engine and running down each side of the bell housing. Any ideas?? Its not a major leak, but probably 3 or 4 quarter size drops every time I stop.

Also......the day we got there and after I found the leak, my CEL came on and then went off the next day. Truck seems to be running fine other than I have noticed my EGT guage is showing the motor not cooling down as fast as usual at idle. It hits about 400 degrees and then takes forever to cool down past that. Again......any ideas?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

back of the motor on that year could be ICP
the higher temps could be VGT or EGR related since they
could be blocking the "heat" from exiting the exhaust.

OK....so here is one for ya. The oil leak has stopped.

When we got back I laid under the truck and sprayed off the bell housing and cleaned it up. This was on Sunday. It is now Tuesday and no new oil.

I am baffled......

Well.....bushpilot.....you win the prize!!!!

Took it into the stealership this morning and they ran a check and sho' nuff.....it was the ICP. They are changing it out as we speak.

Late 04 moved to the front valve cover, easy to replace. 03 and early 04 are a P.I.T.A.. Hope this fix gets you up and going.

Yep......got her back after work. Actually....I am quite impressed. They covered it under the 100k engine warranty. Only $100 out of pocket deductable for me.

I was very happy with this!!
