Hey guys, I was directed to this site after a coupel others offered no info that helped..

The Truck
2000 excursion
7.3 of course
56K
4x4

Mods
4 " MBRP
zoodad
new turbo boots
HPX
fuel pressure guage under the hood
gauges
CCV Mod
DIY tymar intake

I just replaced the boots and put the ccv mod. The engine was leaking a bit and I thought that was the cause. it is not. The truck is leakign out of the oil pan gasket, right int he corner by the starter. I have put a mirror up there and can see it seep out with bthe flywheel guard removed.

I am sure the HPX is not leaking, the HPOP is not, The Turbo pedestal is not leaking, and i am 99% sure its not eh rear main seal. I tried to run fords diesel silicone around the oil pan to no avail.

The leak runs back and drips from the tRanny cross memeber too somehow... Is that normal?

What is the protocol for changing the gasket? what would it cost at the dealer?

Thanks guys

Or any plan B soultions :lmao

You have gotta pull the motor to change the Pan Gasket, or at least raise it up enough to change it. No getting around it, you are in for some work.

yeah, that is what i thought too. and when you pull the inspection cover on the bottom of the bellhousing you are doubly sure its an oil leak too. not until i checked the trans pan did i figure it out.

Run this by me in detail if you dont mind? When you say inspection cover, you mean the guard over the fly wheel correct?

I just dont see how it could have oil up by the starter? But, I am goign camping in 2 weeks and I was due for a Tranny fluid change and such so it will be changed soon and I will see. I certainly hope that could be it lol
