Oil filters -Purolator is on track now

went out today to Wally world and AAP, and Pep boys to look at 6.0 oil filters. See all what people have.

-Walmart is selling Motorcrafts but the part # ends in "B" not A. Going for just under or around $20. Not sure what the A/B difference is. Fram is now selling a clone of the motorcraft for $15. Same patens, same felt, same height, CLONE to me. Could not tell the difference.

-AAP/Pepboys. They carry Fram, Purolator & Motorcraft. The motorcraft at AAP ends in "AA", not "AB" like Wallyworlds. going for $22.96. I found an old Fram on the shelf and it's a shrink wraped German made one. But the newer ones are Clones of the motorcraft. Frams at these places go for $17-$20. Then I pulled Regular Purolators & the PureOnes. The old ones were 2 pc design; will fits. the new models are SWEET. the regular purolator is $14.99, and is a CLONE of the motorcraft and newer Frams; they are all the same/cloned. The PureOne is very different.. HD base plates, METAL INNER CAGE!!! and uses a lot of blue fancy media. they also have some kind of bypass? job built into the top of the filter. Only one with that. I noticed it's dimensions are Cloned from the others... I will be using this filter next time. it's 1 pc, not a 2pc will fit. Very nice updated filter from Purolator. Restored my faith in them... Go check out the new 1pc PureOne! $18. If you don't like it, or want to save money or run a "factory" filter.... get the regular purolator for the $14.99.

I use napa oil filters, which are made by wix.

i think you might find that the inner-core may restrict the flow of oil...
watch your the crappy little in-dash oil pressure gauge (displays a max
of 6psi no matter what).

the "made in germany" is related ONLY to the tops & bottom "plastics"
of the filter NOT the filter itself...same thing w/ the patents...they
ONLY relate to the plastic top and bottom.

i dont know why they <apparently> are the only mfg to THINK a
check valve need to be added to the 6.0 filters...the filter canister/houseing
has an anti-drain back valve in it.

Go to ebay and type in 6.0 oil filters. You can get a case for a good price. I just did.

becareful what your buying...id wanna see the bottom
and inner (tube) / core of those filters to make SURE they
were the right ones.

I'm going to try the new PureOne. See how the oil gets going on a cold start. if it's to restrictive, i'll just switch to the regular purolator. and save $5.

I ordered 1 oil filter, it was what I wanted so I ordered more. You can find some deals on ebay, Bush. Honestly I've been more skeptical of some of the readily available filters that I can see. There's some real garbage out there.

ahh good for you...i did the same thing and then ordered some
in bulk...when i used those up i went back to the same internet retailer
and ordered more...only to discover they'd changed <the oil filters>

and i must be a glutten for punishment cause i went back to 'em
later for fuel filters and the factory trans by-pass filter only to
discover that theyd changed those TOO...even after i was CERTAIN
to ask if they were "OE SPEC"

now i cant get 'em to return my calls or take back the filters....

i wont be dealing w/ fleetfilter.com AGAIN !

I got a case [12] of Luberfiner oil filters for $93.00 with shipping and insurance. I ain't complaining. But you make an excellent point: If I order more, will it be the same quality of filter.

I rather just go to the parts house, and see the filter before I buy it for $15. I only drive about 12-15K/yr. so about 3 oil changes per year. not bad.
