Oil dipstick cracking

My opinion is heat and poor design. I think that most of us reach up and pull toward yourself and up when removing the dipstick. The dealer broke mine earlier in the trucks life, luckily I was watching and brought it to the managers attention right away.

They all break. Very cheap design. I wrapped a little electrical tape around mine so no dirt or water can get into the dip stick tube.

I solved this problem after mine broke with an aluminum billet handle.

I had to buy another dip stick, so I grounded down the factory handle so it
would fit real snug in the replacement. You then tighten the replacement with an Alenn
wrench style set screw.
