I can't seem too be able to get an accurate reading . i can leave the truck sit for a day an it is still very hard to figure out the oil level. it's always oil all over it. I supect it is picking up residual in the tube. I've tried to short stick it but still having problems. any tips , tricks , sug. would be app.

Dumb question, but are you taking the step of wiping it, putting it back in, then checking it? Can't say I've ever had a problem reading mine.

I agree, last time I changed my oil I felt as if I was guessing. I basically make sure I put in what the spec calls for . Then drive it for a day and add if needed. Last time I did had to add oil after driving it but being a qt or 2 low on these truck wont hurt in my option if you're going to check it very soon as it holds plenty of oil and its not sucking air at 1 qt low. Just saying
its easier to read after it gets darker too. the new oil is hard to read as its so clear

yes i wipe off 2 - 3 - 4 times. every time i pull the stick the yellow plastic end seems to have oil all over, no distinct oil level line
