Did you pay the additional few bucks for them to analyze how much additive is remaining present in your sample?

My last sample tested at 8.5 for remaining additive at the 4,800 mile sample,I could probably push out my intervals to 6,000-8,000 miles perhaps.

Got my first analysis for oil removed for the 60k change. Nice! They send both via email and a hard copy.

To extend oil service interval, I know I should get a sample and see the analysis. But what limits are acceptable on the oil before I should change?? Thanks!

IF you paid extra for the TBN (i think) they tell you what your oil is rated at and how much life you have left in it. I haven't had one done in awhile, I wanna say and extra $10...If they sent you an email, just reply back and ask them your question(s). They are usually pretty good on turn-around..:thumbs

Nope, I swapped out the oil and sent in #1 analysis request @ 60k. But what I understand is that at 65K or so, I should grab a sample and add a $15 bill for the TBN... (what the heck is that, anyhow).

I really liked Blackstone's report, they complimented me shamelessly on such clean oil that I am forced to figure a way to extend the service interval now. But if I pay $15 for the TBN, plus around $18 for the basic analysis, I'm gonna need a the added service interval to pay for the analysis!

I'll send 'em my questions, thanks for the suggestions!
