I've been reading these forums and finding out that there are quite a few things that I don't know. It was a dream that wouldn't go away in '97 when the new super duty diesels came out and it was love at first sight. I HAD to have one. And now, finally, I have one. I have nothing to tow as of yet but who cares. The only thing that I knew before reading these forums is that the oil changes were more expensive and the gas mileage could be better.
My diesel vocabulary is lacking. So far I know what PMS is with regard to diesels. In the Navy it has a different meaning but whatever. So can you help me out.
What is #2?
I've read about the WIF light and what to do. What kind of things do you do periodically to prevent it?
How often should you drain the bowl? /fuel tank?
What kind of upgrades if any for bio?
And of course, anything else an owner of a Power Stroke should know.
I'm getting between 12 and 15 mpg right now but only have 1300 miles. Where should it be for city driving? How much better, stock, for straight highway driving?
By the way, how much are you paying a gallon stateside. I just forked over $3.44 a gallon which sucked. They don't sell diesel on Pearl Harbor so I have to pay regular price.-mad
Thanks for the input.
