Guys, now is the time to buy a new Ford truck if you can, especially an F150. Last week, we traded the 2005 Five Hundred on a new 2008 F150 XLT Crew Cab for my wife. The Five Hundred (now Taurus) is an excellent car, but she was having many back and shoulder pains while driving it, and very few driving my truck (and her new one). The truck listed for $32K, and with the employee discount, plus the $7600 in rebates (including $3000 Ford loyalty), it was just a bit over $21K. Yes, we will be getting 6-8 mpg less than the Five Hundred, but she is much more comfortable while driving. I saw ads today that mentioned $8100 in discounts after employee pricing. The F150 is a Stone Green (actually a dark brown) with the XLT Chrome Package and tan interior.

Yep they have some great deals on the F150's right now. Our 05' F150 spends more time in the shop than out so we were thinking about trading it off. The Lariat we were looking at was $10,000 less than sticker.

We've had 3 rear end seals, front shocks, upper control arm bushings, 1 front hub, 4wd actuator, windshield leaks 4 times, rear slider stuck open, radio works when it feels like it, shorts, a/c leaks, power window switch's sticking, all rotors warped and replaced at 30k, hvac switches bad, trans cooler leaking, rear plate lights work sometimes, hood [plastic] repainted because it didn't match, turn signal stalk bad, and the intake piping fell apart. 70k so far. Can't wait for the wife to get tired of this thing. I know I am.

Just curious,
If you have a F250/F350 PSD, why would you need the F150? :dunno
A Explorer or Expedition is more "wife friendly", and should get at least as good mileage as a F150. Plus keeps the groceries out of the weather. Until we bought the Focus, the wife loved her Explorer. Now you can't get her out of the Focus, so the Explorer sits, along with the 300ZXT which is "to low for her now".

We are both tired of the mechanical problems on ours but what does a guy replace it with?

We had an 01 that was a good truck. The new body is what led her to the current FX4. Not sure what to buy. I've been a Ford guy for years, but it seems like you get these F150's two ways: greatest truck ever or a money pit.

Friend in Houston told me of a Deal of 20K off MSRP of all they have in stock ;)

$28,894.67 OUT THE DOOR...

2008 F250 CC 4x4 XLT White with offroad package and towcommand system

It was the LOWEST price they had, but had many other truck with many other options...

Super Duty 4x4 XLT, Lariat, King Ranch Diesels are all on sale $20,000 off of sticker ( includes rebates, 250/350 crew cabs only).

I was VERY close to going down there, but there was no FX4 Models :(
