From the avatar y'all can see what happened to my last baby. It had a custom piped exhaust to exit b/4 the pass. rear wheel (just like a Lightning). It sounded awesome, looked great (painted it semi-gloss black to match the wheels), and loved to fill cars w/ that pretty black stuff. My next idea was 4" to rear, muffler delete' and dual 4"ers to follow the lower pinch welds like the late 5.0s, painted black naturally. Never seen it done and itchin' to be the 1st
but should i delete the cat? Tried it on the last set up and resonated in the cab 70-75 mph. I couldn't take it so i had it welded back on. Does it sound like i would get those vibrations back or would they just be because of the previous location of the exhaust exit? Does all this sound silly, cause i'm thinking it would look and sound sick!!!

I would ditch the cat, I had mine removed, and love it, I don't get any resonating noise at all from it.

I've only seen one other truck with side pipes on it like that, but they are chrome, it was a cover truck in Diesel Power a while back, a black dually, that was made to resemble a shelby cobra, the owner is on these forums, but I can't remember who it is at the moment.

I know exactly what truck you are talking about. Just don't remember seeing a pic of the exhaust. Please post if you you got one.

That's the truck, and i do remember the exhaust now that i see it. But i'm talking about 2 4" pipes behind the rear wheels as far apart as possible like the old '88-'93 5.0s lx's. And i don't mean duals out the back like every other gas p/u. But goddamn that truck is fine. And why do so many dually owners get 24.5s and shave 'em down when they make soooooo many 24" dually wheels that are hot.

I think it's for the 10-Lug big truck look, if I had a dually, I'd do the same instead of buying 24" 8 lug wheels, I just like the look.

Hmmmm

I would not cut the cat out... I would replace it with the cat delete pipe and store the cat for any future inspections from the smog cops. If and when it is needed it is going to cost a bundle to find another one if you throw yours away.

Yeah that's what I did. Bought a cat delete and kept my cat because who knows when you might need it. They are very pricey to buy a new one
