Normal boost level?

There is no throttle cable on a PSD, this was the first diesel engine in a light duty pickup that was 100% fly by wire (computer controlled), since this the other two have followed with the the 24V Cummins and the 6.6 Duramax. But the 7.3L PSD was the first.

That's seriously amazing. That means that this truck is officially the first vehicle I've ever owned that was FBW (newest vehicle I've owned to date being a '99 sports car).

In the pic below you can see the tube coming up off the passengers side intake and going up to the MAP sensor, you can also see where my TEE is tapped into the line just prior to the MAP. That is where you need to be installing your TEE.

That looks in fact exactly where mine is coming off of ... ok apparently I don't understand the layout of the engine. Apologies for the confusion.

In any case, I've thought of an easy way to test it, now that I know it's not reading normal. Thanks.

If you tighten the tee connection too tight it will choke off the plastic tubing going to the boost gauge. This can make it red low.
