I have a 2006 Super Duty with the 6.0 it has 35000 miles and just started to make a weird noise upon acceleration and when you take your foot out of the fuel pedal. Any idea what this noise is? I doesn't do it if you press the pedal hard or accelerate hard and only does at lower speeds.

Wouldnt it only make the noise if I was turning if it was the power steering fluid?

Not necessarily. If it's Low, It's Low. it gets air in it and is essentially.. Cavitating. That's what can makes Whining noise.. If it IS.. yer PS pump.

Check it, fill it to the level, start it, turn the wheels FULL Left & Right a couple times. Check and Repete if you need to.

See if that helps with the noise :dunno

Do you tow much with it..... I was getting a "weird" noise too but mine was only under a good load (usually going up hill) anway I replaced my coolant bottle cap and that fixed it...

If you hear the noise at the base of the front windshield, it may be a cracked Y-pipe. I had mine replaced at about 50,000 miles on my 05 F250 6.0.
