Help Needed Noisy, no start warm

My buddy called me a couple days ago saying his 06 psd had a noise on acceleration. yesterday he called and said he turned it off to go into a store and when he came out it wouldn't start. When it cooled off after about an hour or so it started up. Sounds to me like the HPOP. Whats your opinion?

Yeah, sounds like the HPOP.... very well could be the weak link on the HPOP that Ford installed on the 06 (I think) and newer trucks.

sure does sound like the hpop quick disconnect, they fixed for 07 engines just in time for the 6.4

tell tale sign is noisy engine gear power stearing type whine at 1200-1600 rpm
then hard starts when hot , then finally wont start

$3900 bucks later, mine's running again. They replaced one injector, the HPOP and something else that I can't remember...
